The New World: TCO Yesterday and Today
May 17, 2009 at 3 pm
Horace Greeley High School Auditorium
70 Roaring Brook Road, Chappaqua, NY

Orchestral music's place in the world is not what it was in Beethoven's time. It's not even what it was in 1959. Take a trip through fifty years of local history and hear the first pieces ever played by the The Chappaqua Orchestra: Debussy's Dances for Harp and String Orchestra, Ravel's Introduction and Allegro, and Wagner's Siegfried Idyll. Harpist Emily Mitchell will be the featured soloist.

Then travel to the present, via Dvorák's New World Symphony, and finish with an exciting world premiere as we ponder the question, “What next?” All TCO archives and memorabilia will be available for browsing. Historic photos and TCO history will be part of the concert experience. Come celebrate with us!

This concert is dedicated to the memory of TCO's founding voard member David E. Nierenberg 1918-2008.

Tickets
Tickets will be available at the door.

$20, Students (under 18 or student I.D.) Free
